When it comes to home cooking, preparing a nice heartwarming recipe where the meat is prepared and smothered in gravy that will leave you totally satisfied is the way to go. That is exactly how I would feel when my mom would prepare meals like this, as my mom would call them, stick to your rib’s meals. Cooking over the years, I have learned that smothering meat in gravy is a wonderful way to tenderize meats that would normally cook-up tough if you prepared them any other way.
For example, cheaper cuts of meats like Round Steak, Chuck Steak, Cube Steaks, and even Pork Steaks, if you broil, or fry these steaks the texture will be tough and hard to chew. But, after trying different methods over the years, I found that preparing these cuts of meats smothered in a gravy or their own juice and covering them to cook on a lower setting is the best way to prepare these cuts of meats.
In my recipe, I prepared Pork Steaks and Gravy with Mushrooms and Onions, this recipe is easy to make as you will see in my video. Gravy is also easy to make, it just takes a little practice, by viewing my video, I hope the process will make it easier for you. As I said in my video, when it comes to the seasoning, do it to your taste, especially when it comes to the salt and pepper.
Now the onion and garlic powder, you can add less, one tablespoon of each instead of two, just season it too your taste, but the method of how to get your gravy smooth and creamy, please follow the instructions in the recipe and video. This is a delicious recipe, and I am sure you will like it, also you can do this with any steak that I have mentioned above, this is a great method of turning a cheaper cut of steak into something special. View the recipe and video below and please leave a comment. Enjoy!
